Fabrication
VAF fabricates sculpture and architectural metalwork, from small objects and artist editions to large public artworks. Capabilities include welding, machining, forming, assembly, surface preparation, painted finishes, patina, and clear coating.
Restoration
Restoration work is approached with close attention to the artist’s original intent, the existing material, and the long-term stability of the piece. Projects may include corrosion repair, structural repair, surface cleaning, paint removal, priming, color matching, repainting, clear coating, and ongoing maintenance.
Installation
Sculpture installation requires careful handling, planning, and coordination. VAF provides deinstallation, installation, and reinstallation services for indoor and outdoor works, and coordinating with riggers, engineers, movers, and other specialists when needed.
Consultation
Technical planning is an important part of many successful projects. VAF assists with material selection, structural considerations, finish options, fabrication methods, budgeting, maintenance planning, and coordination with engineers or project teams.
3D Design and Prototyping
Digital modeling and prototyping can help develop forms, test details, plan fabrication, and communicate complex ideas clearly. VAF uses 3D design tools for modeling, templates, fabrication planning, and project visualization.
Public Art Coordination
Public art projects often involve artists, agencies, architects, contractors, engineers, and site teams. VAF can assist with fabrication scopes, technical documentation, estimating, scheduling, installation planning, and coordination through fabrication and installation.
